Description

A real stunner of a card case, made from Mother of Pearl with Abalone shell decoration, the back and front creating a star shape motif. There is also Abalone shell highlights on the sides of the case, the top also mounted with a silver cartouche.

The case back and front is also beautifully engraved to create an even more decorative example. The catch and hinge are in full working order and the shell has a bright and lively patina showcasing the vibrant iridescence properties of the shell.

Excellent condition dating to around 1860. 4" x 3".
