Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this large and superb quality Japanese ivory elephant tusk bridge on a wonderful bespoke made hardwood stand, the bridge consists of a train of nine graduated elephants in a procession each clutching the next elephant in some fashion , the tusk is standing on a later made but wonderful heavy hardwood stand and is signed to the underside.

The condition for such an intricate one piece carving is quite superb , they usually have ears tusks and tails missing or broken , following close inspection we have noticed one tiny tail loss to the second smallest elephant , the colour is lovely and has a great mixed patination , the stand is superb , if these elephants were seperate it could double the total asking price , the largest one would retail at over £1000 on his own.
