Victorian Black Watch Ceremonial Table Lighter

Description

Superb and very unusual Victorian Scottish BLACK WATCH soldier ceremonial table lighter. Made from spelter with all the original paint.

The head is hinged and once open reveals a pull out striker which has what looks like a flint at the end which is stuck against a groove in the base at the right hand side. Haven't tried it to see if it works.

These were used at ceremonial Black watch diners as a bit of fun. The Black Watch having been originally based in Perth before it was amalgamated with other Scottish regiments.

SIZE; 10" high
