19thc (Dated 1889) Superbly Fitted Mahogany Violin Case.

Description

1889 custom made superior quality violin case with silver plated furniture, engraved brass plaque to top, luxurious interior, and with original key. Made in France, as a bespoke item for its English owner.

Fitted compartments and tufted and shaped separate cushion to cover instrument. Luxury aubergine fabric and ribbon inside. This would have been for an important violin.

Plaque is engraved to E.F.M Cater, Corran Harrow, June 11th 1889.

A wonderful talking point to use or display, in very good condition.

31 inches long.
