Large Japanese Carved Ivory Tusk on Stand , Lions,tigers,monkey.

Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this splendid large and heavy Japanese tusk on its wooden display stand , the tusk is carved and stained in deep relief to both sides, the first side depicts a group of three tigers brawling with two lions , the second side simply depicts a more tranquil scene of a monkey , a tiger and a lion , this side also bears the artists signature ,the tusk rests on its purpose built pierced wooden stand which allows you the choice of scenes you wish to display, a fabulous and large Japanese carved tusk from the Meiji period.

The condition of both the stand and the ivory tusk is quite superb !!
