Dating from the early 18th century this period oak antique bible box sits proudly on its own stand. It has a sloping moulded front above an early iron locking plate.
The piece stands on an early 19th century base having turned tapering legs, decorative bulbous feet and a ‘H’ stretcher. This antique bible box comes with oodles of charm and character along with genuine old repairs consistent with age and use from a piece over 300 years old. It is a medium dark shade of oak with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
