The Antique Partnership has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The wood is dark and of a lovely colour..I think mahogany though it may be the same wood as the shaft as the patina of the handle runs into part of the shaft. The shaft is of a hardwood which I can't identify and it has no ferrule to the tip and no trace of ever having had one.The cane is strong and very useable and tactile.
91.5 cms long. The boot handle where one would hold it in the hand is 9.5 cms.
