Fine Quality Indian Ivory Carving of Vishnu

1900 - 1920
Description

We are delighted to offer this fine quality Indian ivory carving of what we believe is a character called Vishnu, standing on a hardwood base the ivory has such amazing detail i will leave the photo's to illustrate the full story .

The ivory is in great condition and has mellowed with age to a good colour , the base has probably been later painted as they were usually brown hardwood , apart from a tiny utensil loss in photo 10 it is in great condition throughout.

Height 7.5" 19 cm

Width 4.5" 11 cm
