A fine French singing bird automaton. The bird is perched in a brass cage decorated with floral swags. The bird stands on his brass perch which has ivy climbing on it. The bird is feathered and moves his head, beak and tail when he sings. The movement is working but the whole item is in untouched condition and has come directly from a local estate house where it has always been, therefore while it is working the whole thing is tired and faded. C.1920
