Huge Chinese Rose Quartz Figure on Silver Inlaid Stand

1900 - 1920
Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to be able to offer this significant Chinese carved rose quartz figure together with its purpose made silver inlaid stand , the figure depicts a Chinese empress clutching a ruyi sceptre and beads whilst sat upon a mythical beast probably a dragon, the whole carving sits upon its hardwood silver inlaid stand.

There is an old label on the stand which looks to have been written quite a few years ago and at that time dates the piece to at least 65yrs old , we estimate it was made around 1910-20 at the latest , it is seriously heavy with the quartz alone weighing around 17kg , a real statement for your home !
