Pair of Large Cast Iron Stick Stands

19th century
Description

Circa 1860, very rare pair of large cast iron of stick stands. The stands have a top section with 2 shaped and curved sections which are open. The stick stands are supported by 2 turned stylish cast uprights with open top finials. Below this they are ribbed, cast and finish on a flowing base. The drip tray is shaped and follows the shape of the top of the stick stand and has a number 9 cast into it. The bottom of the base is very elaborate with almost acanthus style casting all around and finishes flush to the floor. They would have been made perhaps for a hotel or club. Condition is superb. Both have been cleaned with traditional grate polish and have excellent colour.

Size 70cm high x 101cm wide x 40cm deep.

Most items include delivery anywhere in the UK mainland.
