Victorian Patchwork Quilt.

Description

Fantastic 19th.c. patchwork double bedspread c.1860. Measuring 76? x 88? and made of hundreds of hexagonal pieces of fabric on a paisley backing cloth with lace edge. Quilts of this age were made from scraps of fabric salvaged from worn clothing and as such it features a remarkable variety of colours and patterns. A beautiful piece of genuine folk art in very good condition, some wear to the reverse.

Dimensions: width 76", length 88".
