Scottish Cast Iron Stick Stand

19th century
Description

Scottish cast iron stick stand of generous proportions, with kitemark on the back signifying: Bundle 3, 3rd November 1868. At the top is the head of a cherub covered in Bacchus/grape type foliate. There is also geometric and other floral decorations. Below the top is one large arm which sweeps and curves and supports the centre to give 2 compartments. Below this a large drip tray with 2 lifting handles. The back of the stick stand has 2 cast uprights, and an open fretwork back again with foliate and geometric patterns. The whole piece stands on an enclosed plinth which has an egg and dart decoration. The stick stand retains its original patination and is in excellent condition. A good example of Scottish cast iron work.

Size 92cm high x 72cm wide x 32cm deep.

Most items include delivery anywhere in the UK mainland.
