Superb Japanese Noh Mask Netsuke Meiji 1868-1912

Description

As part of our oriental collection we are pleased to be able to offer this quite superb Japanese noh mask netsuke from the 19th century Meiji period , this signed large sized netsuke is made up of nine noh mask characters with various expressions , unusually the netsuke is carved out in the middle meaning that each mask is concave in shape and all carved from one piece of ivory , the netsuke is signed on the underside although we have not had the time to trace the signature ?

The condition is simply perfect !!
