This is an unusual piece of Victorian machinery; it is a wood turning lathe

The treadle bar is made from wood and the bar above is iron, but I am sure that you can see this in the pictures
The belt that drives the lathe is leather it is not broken but it is very worn and would need to be replaced if you want to use the lathe for wood turning

Apart from the interest this piece would be to an enthusiast of Old woodworking tools it would make a very decorative item if used for display
To give you some idea of the proportions the Lathe is 44” high, 62” long and 27” deep, and the diameter of the wheel is 25”
