Magnificent Japanese Bronze Elephant Group Meiji Period 1868-1912 Signed Shukohiro

Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to be able to offer to the market this quite superb large Japanese group of an asian elephant being mauled by two tigers ,the detail on this casting is quite staggering , we have had many Meiji bronze elephants and groups over the years but this is simply the best we have seen.

I will leave the photos to show you the details but you cannot appreciate the size or quality without having him in your hands , he weighs in at over 11kg or 24lb, superb seal signature under the belly which is signed by a Meiji bronze master "SHUKOHIRO".

Condition is perfect , they dont get much better!!
