19thc French Bronze & Ormolu Perfume Burner

A mid - late 19thc highly decorative French bronze & ormolu (gilt brass) perfume burner or incense burner of superb quality.

The round barss lid has various pierced designs such as winged cherubs & scroll designs with an ormolu finial.

The ormolu & bronze bowl is decorated with various Classical designs.

Underneath this is a central ormolu finial with a design ball moulding.

The bowl is supported by three finely cast bronze, winged female caryatids.

These rest on three scroll shaped bronze supports with ormolu mounts.

The tri-form base is superb quality moulded brass with Classical designs & with a well formed ormolu dog or fox head at each corner.

In the centre of this base is another finely cast ormolu mount in the form of stylised creatures.
