7 Japanese Ivory Okimono with Stand of Chinese Gods

1900 - 1920
Description

As part of our oriental collection we are pleased to be able to offer this group of seven Japanese ivory okimono depicting Chinese gods all stood on their purpose built stepped stand ,the quality and detail of the characters is quite superb ,the individual okimono are very chunky at average of 3" high with stained details and a lovely mellow yellow colour to the white areas , there are a couple of minor faults to two of them , the fisherman (no 1 )has his fish but lacks his rod, the shamosin player (no 7 ) has a chip out of her side,it would make more commercial sense for me to sell them individually but i feel they should probably be given a chance together , i will however listen to anyone looking for at least two figures excluding the stand.
