A beautiful, early 19th century antique coal purdonium.
This useful yet attractive piece of fireside equipment has elaborate, well cast iron handles which are in the original, bronzed finish.
The four curly iron feet and handle on the lid are original and ornate too.
Inside this Georgian purdonium coal box/scuttle is a period coal shovel, this is iron with a treen jappaned handle.
In very good, solid condition with no holes.
