Set of Four Carved Wooden Urns with a Painted Finish

An early 20thc set of four carved wooden urns in the Classical form with a 'shabby chic' painted finish.

The tops consist of carved exotic fruits with foliage & a ball carved decoration on the rims.

These lead down to a hollow interior & the exterior consists of finely carved lion masks with garlands of flowers & ribbon decoration coming from their mouths.

Underneath is a carved & reeded decoration with a ball bead carving (similar to the lid) & terminating with a turned base on a square plynth.

The wood is hard to state due to the liming & there is evidence of old repairs.

These could be split into two pairs of two if preferred.
