William IV Reading or Music Stand

Description

A William IV (1834) mahogany reading stand or music stand. Height adjustable. The trifoil base with mushroom feet supporting a reeded column (old repaired cracks) upon which rests a ratchet adjustable top. The top can be adjusted in height by rotating it exposing an inner stem screw. The ratchet top can be horizontal as a table top or raised to varoius angles up to about 60 degrees.It has a detachable book/folio rest.

The top measures 53 cm wide by 40 deep and unadjusted and set as a table horizontally it measures 71 high. This will rise to a maximum of 93 cm with the ratchet top adding a further 32 approx when raised to 60 degrees.
