Victorian Brass Mounted Inlaid Card Table

19th century
Description

A super quality marquetry inlaid walnut card table with brass decoration throughout ,the table top has a super inlaid central panel with a pair of geometric bandings inset with a dark burrwood and satinwood stringing, the top is further enhanced with a solid concave brass moulding to the edge.

The frieze is inset all around with matching burr veneers and brass decoration all resting on brass mounted inlaid tapered reeded legs, with brass end caps , the rear legs pull out and the top rests upon these when fully opened to reveal a matching burrwood banding around a faded but probably original baize, a further sign of its lovely quality.
