The Antique Partnership has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Vokins were founded in 1840. These stands are carved in pine and ebonized and hard laquered on the exterior to appear as if they were made of ebony. These are suitable for a pair of substantial vases or urns or possibly blackamoors.

They measure 31cm tall and the bases are 35 cms in spread. The top diameter rim is 21 cms and the cups will receive a vase base of 17.8cms (7 inches) There are wooden infills to go into the cups allowing a vase of 19 cms or 7.5 inches to stand on rather than sit in.
