Victorian Colonial Style Hardwood Jardiniere Stand

19th century
Description

Very unusual hardwood jardiniere stand taking the form of a twisted cobra wrapping itself around a bird as the column , bowl with heavily carved leaf and berry design finishing with caved mythical creatures to the base.

Made around 1890- 1900 from a hardwood of the region , possibly stained teak ? , certainly a very heavy and substantial piece which would be an interesting topic of conversation in the right surroundings , condition is good , it is jointed so expect slight age related movement.
