An Antique Wooden Ladle with Great Patina

19th century
Description

A primitive but beautifully made large spoon/ladle of unknown origin. Dark with patina from long use this spoon is made from a hard wood possibly palm. The stem is made such that it would rest on the lip of a shallow bowl. The cup of the spoon has a crack which can be seen in the photographs and the tip of the stem has been pierced for hanging. This piece is extremely tactile and is of considerable age.

It measures 65 cms long the cup being 16 cms wide maximum.
