Description

A very handsome set of desk-top postal scales dating to around 1900, we can date fairly accurately from the rates engraved on the letter pan.

The inside of the back balance is impressed with a foundry mark STS and the front balance signed by the makers, John Heath, Birmingham.

The base is created from Walnut with a shaped serpentine front and cradles the full set of brass weights including the small bell-shaped topper.

Excellent condition, measuring 9 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 4 3/4" tall.
