A superb marble bust of young lady with flowers in her hair. The bust in white carrara marble sits on a typical socle base and depicts the head and shoulders, the girl is looking demurely away from the sculptor as if shy, and her hair is tied up with flowers interwoven into it. The marble is typical of Victorian sculture in that it takes inspiration from the classical past but is given a less formal and lively treatment. The bust is sadly unsigned but it must surely have been made by a good sculptor purely from the quality of the work. The bust while in good condition does have a slight repair to the nose and one or two marks but these are only visable on close inspection and does not detract from it''s overall decorative presence.
