It was listed by Puckerings. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1800s.

Standing on four original bun feet, there are some most unusual features with this example; the small candlestick doubling as a handle to remove the lid from the central nib & sealing wax compartment. There is a folding heavily cast brass handle which moves 180 degrees and sits either side of this central compartment; it would be perfect in the centre of a Partner's Desk, with a pen tray each side.

Another unusual feature is the drawer underneath, lined in Mahogany complete with a working lock and key.
There are two wonderful heavy crystal inkwells that sit on the top without damage (a couple of minuscule imperfections to the base, really insignificant), topped with brass open lids.
A superb, showy piece in fabulous condition. 13 1/2" x 10 3/4".
