Description

HUGE PAIR OF ANTIQUE 'COMPTON'GARDEN URNS.

A wonderful pair of large, original antique 'Compton' urns.

This pair of antique terracotta garden urns have an unusual inter woven Celtic design with four hooped handles on each urn.

One urn/pot bears the Compton makers mark.

The Compton Potters' Arts Guild was a pottery, founded by and based at the Surrey home of Scottish artist, Mary Fraser Tytler they produced large terracotta garden urns with the designs being inspired by Gothic Revival, Arts and Crafts and later Art Nouveau.

Compton garden urns were retailed by Libertys of London and other quality retailers.

In lovely period condition.

Dimensions: 41cm high x 65cm widex 65cm deep
