Antique English Horseshoe and Jockey Cap Pocket Watch Holder / Pen Stand C.1880

Description

A wonderful and quite charming combination of a pen rest which doubles as a pocket watch holder made from solid cast brass, and beautifully made.

The stand has a folding easel back allowing it to be stored flat (for travelling), and is mounted with an equestrian themed Jockey cap, beneath which is the small brass hook which is where the pocket watch would hang.

The six "nails", three each side are where one could rest one's dip pen, so an interesting offering for the pen collector, watch collector and horse devotee.

Excellent condition, measuring 5" tall to top of cap x 3 1/2" at widest; the interior of the horse shoe measures 3 1/4" x 2 1/2".
