Late 19thc Chinese Wood Carving of Dragons

Description

A highly decorative late 19thc finely carved Chinese hardwood carved figure of two snarling dragons in a water scene.

The piece stands on an original hardwood, carved base.

The dragons are finely carved & have ivory eyes & teeth.

Also in this scene there are fish swimming amongst the waves and possibly a jellyfish in the centre. One of the fish has an eye missing.

Width: 54.5cm / 21.5''

Depth: 17cm / 6.75''
