  • Period1900 - 1920

A group of four folk art bird studies made in England during the 1920s, originating from the workshop of a model and rocking horse maker. Each bird is constructed from carved wood and finished with hand-painted decoration, featuring white bodies paired with blue, orange, and black markings, set upon rectangular block bases. The surfaces show minor signs of wear and surface cracking consistent with age, alongside detailed beak and wing carving. The collection spans approximately 50 cm in length and 60 cm in height. These decorative carvings suit placement upon a sideboard, mantelpiece, or bookshelf within a living room or study.
