This 1930s traditional English country house dining set comprises an extending rectangular dining table and six matching ladder-back chairs, crafted in warm brown oak with upholstery fabric. The rectangular tabletop has a plank-effect surface and extension leaves, resting on turned legs connected by sturdy lower stretchers. Each chair displays shaped ladder backs with wavy crest rails and drop-in seats upholstered in fabric patterned with red, yellow, and green floral and leaf motifs. The suite measures 80 cm high, 160 cm wide, and 84 cm deep. It provides a practical and cohesive seating arrangement for family meals and gatherings in a dining room or kitchen space.

Furniture from the 1930s frequently incorporated solid oak construction, traditional joinery methods, and functional features such as extendable draw-leaf mechanisms to suit versatile living spaces.

These pieces were typically crafted from solid oak or oak veneers, often paired with woven, drop-in, or fully upholstered textile seat cushions attached to timber frames.

Authentic pieces generally display period-appropriate joinery such as mortise and tenon joints, realistic surface wear around table edges and footrests, and characteristic wave or ladder-back chair rail designs.

Warm timber tones pair well with neutral paint palettes, textured linen wallcoverings, contemporary pendant lighting, and modern glassware to balance traditional woodwork with clear modern lines.

Clean wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish periodically to nourish the grain, while keeping upholstery free of debris using light vacuuming.
