We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Victorian taxidermy case from 1880 displays a mixed group of eleven foreign birds in the manner of Shopland of Torquay. The glass-sided rectangular enclosure contains eleven specimens including an Indian paradise flycatcher, an European bee-eater, and a black-rumped flameback woodpecker, positioned amongst branchwork, foliage, and glistening rocks that extend across the top and back. The birds exhibit plumage in shades of turquoise, orange, chestnut, green, yellow, grey, and white against a textured interior background. The exterior has a simple wooden frame construction measuring 55.5 cm high, 50 cm wide, and 25 cm deep. The case is unlabelled and sits upright on a flat surface. Designed for display on a table, sideboard, or shelf, this piece works well as a decorative focal point in a study, library, or living room interior. It brings historical interest and natural history specimen preservation into a domestic setting. The arrangement provides a view of multiple exotic avian species from different global regions within a single antique display case.
