Stunning Antique French Amboyna and Brass Letter Rack / Stationery Holder C.1890

Description

A fine quality late Victorian letter holder or stationery caddy made from the most expensive timber, which is Amboyna, with it's highly decorative burl and rich deep cognac colour.

All sides are inlaid with brass stringing between the Amboyna and Ebony, all the edges are also mounted with exquisite brass trim. There is also a vacant cartouche to the front.

A fabulous desk-top accessory, a little everyday luxury and very usable easily fitting modern day stationery.

The footprint measures 10" x 4 3/4" and standing 6 1/2" tall at rear. Each compartment measures 9 1/2" wide.
