Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This nineteenth-century rustic folk art side table is a piece of furniture made from dark brown wood, twigs, bark, and lacquer in a highland hunting lodge style. The construction utilises natural branches forming a cross-braced support base beneath a lacquered rectangular top, with unpeeled bark detail covering the frame. The design includes knobby twig legs, diagonal cross stretcher braces, and visible restoration to the lacquer work on the top surface. The table measures 67 cm high, 52 cm wide, and 36 cm deep. In a contemporary home, this side table serves as a functional surface positioned at the end of a sofa in a living room, study, or reading nook. The dark brown timber tones and organic branch elements provide a rustic accent suitable for traditional or eclectic interiors. The compact rectangular footprint holds lamps, books, or drinks while maintaining a small spatial footprint against upholstery or walls.

FAQs

Rustic twig furniture, frequently associated with late 19th-century folk art and Adirondack traditions, utilises unpeeled branches, roots, and twigs to construct organic, functional household forms.

Craftsmen typically selected native branch timber, securing the framework with joinery or discreet fasteners, while topping the structure with flat timber panels or lacquered boards.

Authentic period pieces show age-appropriate shrinkage around joinery, natural wear to the bark layer, hand-cut assembly marks, and original dark lacquer or varnish finishes on working surfaces.

A twig side table introduces tactile organic texture when placed beside clean-lined upholstered seating, paired with botanical artwork, or layered alongside natural linen soft furnishings.

Position the item away from central heating sources to prevent timber desiccation, remove dust with a soft brush, and clean the lacquered tabletop using a damp microfiber cloth.
