We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

A hinggi is a traditional large warp ikat mantle or cloth originating from the island of Sumba in Indonesia, historically worn by men and used in ceremonial exchanges.

These textiles are handwoven from hand-spun cotton fibres using a warp ikat technique, where pattern threads are resist-dyed prior to weaving using natural plant pigments such as indigo and morinda root.

Authentic pieces exhibit mirrored central panels, subtle dye bleed characteristic of hand-dyeing, integrated fringed edges, and iconography featuring zoomorphic figures like horses or birds alongside geometric grids.

It can be mounted on a wooden rod or acrylic frame as focal wall art, draped across the foot of a bed, or displayed over a sofa back to introduce texture and pattern.

Keep the textile suspended away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading, store flat or loosely rolled around acid-free tubes, and clean only via specialist conservation methods.
