FAQs

A demilune tea table is a semi-circular accent table featuring a hinged, fold-over top designed to sit flush against a wall when closed or open into a circular surface for serving tea or playing cards.

Georgian tea tables were predominantly crafted from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, often incorporating fine wood inlay stringing, hand-cut dovetail joints, and square tapered legs.

Authentic period pieces display hand-planed underside surfaces, original brass butterfly hinges, secondary timber drawer linings such as oak or pine, and natural oxidation along timber joints.

Position the table against a wall in an entryway or alcove, topped with a contemporary lamp or ceramic vessel to create a balanced contrast between historic craftsmanship and modern decor.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, keeping the piece away from direct heat sources and sunlight.
