Description

This charming Salt-Bag ('namakdan' in Persian) was woven by the Zaggar Mangal tribes in the border areas of south-west Afghanistan and Baluchistan during the mid 20th century. The weave, same on the back as on the front, is quite astounding bearing in mind such bags were utilitarian and woven on primitive looms. This can be seen from the detailed images of the bag. Bags like this can look stunning when hung on a wall.

Size: 74cm including tassels x 25cm (2' 5" x 10").
