This Regency decorative ceramic piece is a miniature porcelain basket made around 1820. The white porcelain body has a glossy glaze finish, decorated with a raised basketweave moulding on the exterior alongside colourful handpainted botanical flower motifs in shades of purple, pink, red, blue, green and yellow. An arched loop handle rises from the centre, flanked by vertical decorative bands, while tiny blue floral sprigs adorn the side and small pink blossoms decorate the opposite end. Measuring approximately 8 cm long, the vessel is in excellent undamaged condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration present on the surface. Collectors can display this antique item on a mantelpiece or within a cabinet as a decorative accent in a traditional interior.
