This Regency decorative ceramic piece is a miniature porcelain basket made around 1820. The white porcelain body has a glossy glaze finish, decorated with a raised basketweave moulding on the exterior alongside colourful handpainted botanical flower motifs in shades of purple, pink, red, blue, green and yellow. An arched loop handle rises from the centre, flanked by vertical decorative bands, while tiny blue floral sprigs adorn the side and small pink blossoms decorate the opposite end. Measuring approximately 8 cm long, the vessel is in excellent undamaged condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration present on the surface. Collectors can display this antique item on a mantelpiece or within a cabinet as a decorative accent in a traditional interior. The delicate floral painting and textured weave design complement classic display settings, while the small scale permits placement on narrow ledges or side tables. This miniature porcelain work showcases the traditional craftsmanship of the period through fine enamel detailing and careful moulding.

Flight, Barr & Barr operated the Worcester porcelain factory between 1813 and 1840, producing refined soft-paste porcelain characterised by translucent glazes, detailed hand-painted botanical panels, and intricate moulded relief work.

These items were crafted from fine porcelain, cast or hand-moulded with woven texture details, finished with a clear glaze, and decorated using overglaze enamel pigments painted by skilled ceramic artists.

Authentic pieces often feature impressed factory marks such as FBB beneath a royal crown on the underside, precise painted enamelling, and high translucency characteristic of early nineteenth-century English paste formulas.

Miniature porcelain objects function well within curio displays, layered on bookshelf vignettes, or placed atop a mantelpiece alongside modern ceramic and glass forms to create contrast.

Clean painted porcelain using a dry, soft-bristled brush or gently wipe with a lint-free cloth moistened with lukewarm water, avoiding chemical detergents, abrasive sponges, or submersion that could damage overglaze enamels.
