Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Popularised in 18th-century Britain, a Georgian tilt-top table features a circular or rectangular top mounted on a catch mechanism that allows it to fold vertically, saving space along room perimeters when not in use.

These tables were primarily crafted from solid woods such as mahogany, oak, or walnut, featuring hand-turned central pedestals and hand-carved tripod legs secured with iron or wooden catch fittings.

Authentic Georgian examples typically display hand-planed tops, irregular turned columns, original catch mechanisms, and dark patination on unexposed underside timber, alongside hand-cut dovetails or bearer rails.

Small occasional tables serve as versatile accents beside armchairs, within reading nooks, or in entryways, providing a historical element against neutral contemporary upholstery.

Keep the timber away from direct heat sources and high humidity to prevent warping. Dust regularly with a soft cloth and apply natural beeswax sparingly to protect the original finish.
