In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The set is contained within its original mahogany box with sections for each instrument.
The rulers are also stamped D.J.A.F and carry the broad arrow. The maker's name is emblazoned in gold on the blue silk lining of the lid "Geo. Lee & Son, Navigation Instrument Makers, The Hard, Portsmouth".

The whole set is in good condition for its age. It has obviously been well looked after and all the instruments are in good condition. There is some minor wear and light tarnishing on some of the metal parts but nothing detrimental. The box is in good condition with just some minor marks and light wear to the lining and overall it displays very well.
