Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian extending dining tables were crafted between 1901 and 1910, frequently incorporating features from earlier 18th-century Chippendale design. They typically feature mechanical extension systems, solid mahogany timber, and ornamental carved details such as cabriole legs.

These tables were constructed primarily from solid mahogany timber or mahogany veneers mounted on sturdy oak or pine sub-frames. Extension mechanisms utilised metal or wooden winding screws paired with hand-carved support legs.

Authentic pieces feature period-correct brass castors, hand-cut joinery on the underside, and authentic mechanical winding mechanisms. Natural timber shrinkage over time and signs of hand-carved leg detailing help confirm age.

Pair the table with contemporary upholstered dining chairs or minimalist pendant lighting to create an intentional visual contrast. Neutral wall tones ground the deep timber finishes without overpowering the room.

Dust the surface regularly using a soft cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice per year following the wood grain. Keep the table away from direct heat sources and radiators to prevent timber shrinkage or splitting.
