The English Interior has dated this piece to the Regency era.
A fine pair of antique curtain panels, made from luxurious and luminous silk.
The main body of the green fabric is delicately woven with a small, repeating slightly contrasting caramel sprig/floral motif which is distributed evenly across the panels and picked up in the fringing and wide border.
The curtains leading inner edges and the bottom hems are framed with a wide, decorative jacquard or brocade trim in a contrasting muted caramel tone. This border features an intricate classical foliage and geometric pattern. Additionally the very edges of the curtains are finished with a delicate, matching short brush fringe (or bullion fringe trim) that enhances their charm and frames them softly
These panels are generously long, and may be ( at just over three metres) designed to elegantly puddle on the floor, which is characteristic of such grand, historic European drapery.
Attached at the top are the original hanging hoops which are gilt brasss and over very fine quality
Additionally included are three tie back elements two large and one smaller. These curtains are of very high guilty there is metre upon meter of silk fabric.
The blanket lining is attached and I would hang as is. However you may wish to replace the cotton lining which is sun bleached and frayed. There are two small frayed elements across the front edge, however although tricky to photograph the main fabric is of even colour and remarkably well preserved. I would say images 3 and 8 ( close ups) are truest to the subtle shade and even colour.
