This Georgian charger is a creamware earthenware piece from the eighteenth century, presented in an oval form with a lead glaze finish. The cream-coloured surface displays a glossy glaze with gentle tonal variations, while the edge is shaped with a distinct silver-shape border and a scalloped rim. A tiny flea bite is present on the edge of the rim. The charger measures 47 by 38 by 5 cm. In a modern home, this piece works well on a sideboard top as a decorative focal point or as a serving platter for formal dining and gatherings. The traditional English country house design complements heritage interiors, country kitchens, and period dining rooms alike. Placed flat on a surface or mounted on a display stand, the subtle curves and soft cream shade bring understated historic character to interior spaces.

Creamware is a refined earthenware featuring a pale cream-coloured body covered in a clear lead glaze, developed in England during the mid-18th century as a durable alternative to imported porcelain.

Silver-shaped creamware pieces were formed using moulds adapted directly from silversmithing designs, resulting in contoured, lobed, or scalloped borders applied to a flint and clay body before kiln firing.

Authentic period pieces often feature subtle greenish or yellowish pooling of glaze in recessed areas, lightweight earthenware construction, and minor hand-crafting irregularities consistent with 18th-century production.

A large charger can be placed on a plate stand, mounted on a wall as part of a gallery arrangement, or styled flat as a central accent on a sideboard or dining table.

Clean gently by hand using warm water and mild liquid soap, avoiding abrasive pads or prolonged submersion to protect the historic glaze finish.
