This oak two-drawer side table dates from the late 1920s and reflects the ethos, design and construction principles of the Simpsons of Kendal, particularly the work of Hubert Simpson. As the images show, Hubert Simpson (attributed) created a charming and practical table of simple form, using its method of construction as decoration, such as the protruding tenon joints the secure the chamfered stretcher.
