The is a brilliant example of an 'Agadir' door that was made by the Amazigh nomadic people (or Berber tribe) in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Using locally available Atlas Cedar, the primary purpose for these doors was to protect the community's harvest in the harsh winter months, that included things like wheat, dates and spices. This door features three semi-circular mihrabs, a prayer niche that is found in all mosques. Today, this ancient practise only lives on in Morocco's Sous-Massa region, making this door a valuable piece of Berber/Amazigh history.
