Antique William IV Mahogany Writing Table

Description

A smart and extremely well made antique William IV mahogany writing table / desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1830-1850 period.

It is of superb quality and has a useful, compact design. The mahogany has a gorgeous colour tone and stunning grain patterns. The top has a thumb moulded edge, it stands on bold turned legs with platform bases and bun feet with brass casters. The drawer on the front opens smoothly and has very fine, hand cut dovetailed joints. The back of the desk has a dummy drawer so this looks identical back and front.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.

Height – 30 inches , 76 cm

Knee height – 25 inches , 65 cm
