Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Afghan daggers, such as the Pesh-Kabz and Choora, were crafted throughout the 18th century across Afghanistan and the northwest frontier. They were designed primarily as sidearms capable of penetrating armour and were carried by tribal warriors as symbols of status and defensive capability.

These weapons typically feature hand-forged high-carbon steel blades paired with grip scales constructed from animal bone, walrus ivory, horn, or wood. Metal bolsters, often made from copper, brass, or silver, reinforce the join between blade and hilt.

Authentic pieces exhibit signs of traditional hand-forging, such as slight asymmetry in the blade fuller and subtle surface imperfections. Hilts are commonly secured with exposed steel or copper pins, and natural handle materials show age-appropriate patina and gentle surface checking.

Collectors and designers frequently present antique daggers mounted on custom steel stands inside glass vitrines, or lay them flat on library shelving and executive desks alongside books and historical curiosities.

Maintain metal surfaces by applying a thin coat of acid-free microcrystalline wax to prevent oxidisation. Bone and horn hilts should be kept in stable humidity environments to prevent cracking, avoiding direct heat sources and harsh chemical cleaners.
