A magnificent and exceptionally decorative antique Chinese carved wooden easel frame, beautifully hand carved throughout with elaborate traditional Oriental motifs including dragons, phoenix, scrolling decoration, and intricate geometric detailing.

This impressive and highly unusual piece is a true statement item, showcasing outstanding craftsmanship and remarkable decorative presence. The substantial frame features richly carved tiered top borders, finely detailed pierced and patterned supports, and wonderfully sculpted dragons beneath each arm, symbols of strength, prosperity, and protection in Chinese culture. The inclusion of the phoenix motif further enhances its symbolism and visual appeal.

Having acquired a wonderful deep colour and patina over time, this large antique easel frame displays beautifully and would make a superb feature piece in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
